OUT NOW! OPENING THE DOOR: MY JOURNEY THROUGH ANOREXIA TO FULL RECOVERY

By Meredith O’Brien | Certified Eating Disorder Coach and LCSW

YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

A pro-recovery website and blog to inspire hope and to share concrete skills with those affected by Anorexia and other eating disorders.

welcome to my blog

I fully recovered from anorexia. I never thought it was possible. I just accepted that I would live a “quasi-recovered” life, but deep down I know I deserved more. I never gave up and reached full recovery. Recovery is possible. You can live a fulfilled life.

If you suffer from an eating disorder, are in active recovery or identify yourself as recovered this blog will give you the concrete tools to help with recovery. The skills will help you to battle and beat this disease. My main goals are to inspire hope and to share skills that helped me to recover to hopefully help you to live a more fulfilled and serene life. I want to be clear that this is a pro-recovery blog.

This blog is also for loved ones of people who battle anorexia and other eating disorders, professionals, supporters, and anyone affected by an eating disorder. My blog will help give you information, support, and guidance during this process. My blog will also give you access to websites, books and other blogs that can help you in your recovery journey.

I was enslaved to my eating disorder for over 25 years and I was able to break free. It felt impossible. I felt hopeless. I lived a truly miserable existence when I was sick. I was ravaged by my mind and a prisoner to my body. Recovery is easily the hardest thing I have ever faced. It is also what I am most proud.

I am a happy woman. I am a strong woman. I am a determined woman. I am fully recovered and here to support you on your journey.

You are in the right place. You are not alone.

Serenity Always,
Meredith
